Necessity is the mother of all invention. These
words ring true regarding the technical accomplishments at SIGFX. The
founders of VBI 2000 and executives at SIGFX recognized the need for a
new way to deliver personal wireless communications. Our focus has been
to find innovative ways to overcome three of the serious problems plaguing
today's wireless communication systems:
Changing the way wireless communications take place.
Years of research and development have made our dream a reality. SIGFX
has developed new signal processing techniques which we believe will be
the foundation of tomorrow's wireless networks. These signal processing
techniques also help resolve the three problems listed above.
A giant leap forward. SIGFX encountered many roadblocks
during the development of our technology. Overcoming these roadblocks
required the development of new and innovative ways to process severely
unbalanced signals (signals that operated near or below the noise floor),
smart antenna technology and intelligent
batteries.
SIGFX has also developed a way to constantly measure
the characteristics of the wireless spectrum. These measurements allow
the multiple onboard processors in our software
defined wireless devices to make complex decisions
resulting
in clearer and more efficient communications. These patented technologies
have been incorporated into the first two SIGFX products: a software defined,
intelligent wireless device and an infrastructure sensitive return signal
processor (RSP).
Flexible wireless devices and networks. The intelligent
communication devices designed by SIGFX have the ability to seamlessly
modify their operating frequency, coding schemes, and compression algorithms.
This allows us to accomplish each individual wireless application as efficiently
as possible, while providing superior call clarity and transmission reliability.
We believe that this type of flexibility is the cornerstone of future
wireless networks.
Technology to change the world. Sometimes the
simplest plans are the best. The incorporation of SIGFX products into
the existing worldwide television-broadcasting infrastructure will allow
us to bring telecommunications to places where it does not exist today.
